Today I am sad. I grope for words to express myself. The World Trade Center lies in ruins and our city skyline has been altered forever.

This morning, when I watched with horror the footage of the second plane flying directly into the south tower, I gaped and tried to process what I was witnessing; it seemed like a bizarre representation of reality.

In the aftermath of one of the worst terrorist attacks in the history of our nation, I am filled with revulsion. This is a despicable act of cowardice, a hideous crime against humanity that must never be forgotten.  September 11, 2001, will be seared in our minds as a day that will live in infamy. However, be assured, that the perpetrators of this evil deed will be held accountable for their barbaric actions, and at the end, justice always prevails.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their love ones.

Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.
